Dr. Rajat Kapoor FRCS(Glasgow), DNB Ophthalmology, FICO(London), FLVPEI(Pediatric ophthalmology, Strabismus and Neuro-ophthalmology) Dr Rajat Kapoor completed his basic medical training from Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences, Maharashtra affiliated to MUHS, Nashik. He did his Diploma in Ophthalmology from Joseph eye hospital in Trichy where he won the gold medal followed by D.N.B in Ophthalmology from Sankara Eye Hospital in Coimbatore. Dr Kapoor then went on to do a fellowship in Paediatric/Neuro-ophthalmology and Strabismus from LV Prasad eye institute, Hyderabad. This was followed by a consultancy position at LV Prasad eye institute, Visakhapatnam. Currently, he is a senior faculty and heading the Paediatric/Neuro-ophthalmology and Strabismus services at Pushpagiri eye institute, Hyderabad.

He is a Fellow of the International Council of Ophthalmology (F.I.C.O) London and also a Fellow of Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow (F.R.C.S). Having an experience of over 11 years in the field on ophthalmology, Rajat has performed more than 20,000 ophthalmology surgical procedures. Having travelled the length and breadth of the country, he has a wide experience in public health.

His unique surgical skill transfer workshops gain a lot of attention by residents and fellows across India. He has mentored over 12 long term clinical ophthalmology fellows, 20 ophthalmology residents and more than 100 ophthalmology observers, short term fellows and optometrists. He is a consultant mentor/ advisor for organizations in and outside India for developing ophthalmology residency/fellowship programmes.

Rajat conducts frequent hands-on and video assisted skill transfer courses for upcoming eye surgeons in India and is an invited faculty/speaker, having presented his work in the form of research papers, posters and videos at various national and international ophthalmology conferences. He has published book chapters with Springer publications and over 15 research papers in peer-reviewed journals. Rajat is also a reviewer for well received ophthalmology journals like BMJ, IJO, JCOR etc. Additionally he is on the editorial and review board for Acta Scientific journal of ophthalmology.

His core clinical and research interests include adult and pediatric Strabismus (Squint), Paediatric Cataract, Neuro-Ophthalmological disorders, Low vision and rehabilitation services, contact lens use in pediatric patients and premium cataract surgery.
